Because plastic products are much thicker than the coating film of paint and ink, it does not need too high pigment volume concentration, plus it has high hiding power and strong coloring power, and the general dosage is only 3% to 5%. Almost all thermosetting and thermoplastic plastics are used in it, such as polyolefin (mainly low-density polyethylene), polystyrene, ABS, polyvinyl chloride, etc., it can be mixed with resin dry powder, can also be mixed with the liquid containing plasticizer, there are some titanium dioxide first processed into masterbatches after use.
Quality requirements:
1) Covering power: good covering power titanium dioxide, the plastic products produced are lighter and thinner;
2) Whiteness: determine the appearance of light-colored or white plastic products;
3) Dispersion: affect the production cost of plastic products, poorly dispersed titanium dioxide in plastic products will affect the smoothness and brightness of the product;
4) Weather resistance: outdoor use of plastic products and plastic doors and Windows must ensure the weather resistance of titanium dioxide.
Master and titanium dioxide:
According to incomplete statistics, the titanium white used for the production of color masterbatches is 20,000 to 30,000 tons per year, and the rutile used is divided into high, middle and low three grades, the use of imported rutile, the use of domestic rutile in the middle grade, and the use of domestic anatase titanium white in the low grade.
The masterbatch can be used to match the color of PVC, polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene and ABS plastics. Its main components are pigment, resin, dispersant, volume pigment, fluorescent whitening agent, antioxidant, anti-ultraviolet agent, antistatic agent, toughening agent, brightener, etc. Titanium dioxide is used as a white pigment, which has the advantages of non-toxic, stable chemical properties, high hiding power and good dispersion.
Quality requirements:
The color masterbatch is used as an industrial raw material, and the performance is usually shown in the subsequent product application (such as blowing film or injection molding), therefore, the performance of titanium dioxide in the color masterbatch is also mainly reflected in the application process of the color masterbatch. It is mainly reflected in the following aspects: 1) coloring force: determines the amount of titanium dioxide used in the color of the same plastic products;
2) whiteness: determines the appearance of light-colored (white) plastic products with the same content of titanium dioxide;
3) Dispersion: affects the production cost of color mesh particles and the appearance and luster of plastic products;
4) Processing performance: affect the production cost of color masterbatch.
